Na Pali Coast Experienced
The only way to really experience the magnificent and breathtaking Na Pali Coast side of Kauai is via boat. Capt. Andy's 55' catamaran takes passengers on a guided cruise to the Na Pali Coast. The trip also includes snorkeling, either lunch or sunset dinner, open bar (after snorkeling with dinner or lunch).
We joined the sunset snorkeling cruise. The trip began at Port Allen Harbor at Ele'ele. Captain Bob, our skipper, narrated some of the Kauai history, specifically around the Na Pali coastline. The excursion took us to the spectacular cliffs and waterfalls, and a thrilling "close" look at caves (the boat slowly backed into the opening of the caves). To the passengers delight, we saw spinner and bottle-nosed dolphins which according to Capt. Bob is unusual for this time of year. Prior to snorkeling, the crew presented passengers with safety instructions along with snorkeling gear. As expected, there were colorful reef fish of various kinds.
The crew prepared a delicious barbecue dinner with a choice of chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs. A buffet of salads and fruits was also available.
